Sustainability Momentum Sdn Bhd

The Malaysian Environmental Non-Governmental Organisations (Mengo) is organising an urban environment-themed treasure hunt focusing on sustainable living concepts in Kuala Lumpur. The Mengo Green Hunt 2013 aims to instil awareness and promote the use of sustainable modes of transportation while stressing the importance of leaving a low ecological footprint. The treasure hunt, to be held in conjunction with the Malaysian National Environmental Week, will see participants walking and using public transportation to solve clues and riddles.

The Nature Guides with two humorous botanists, Chew Ming Yee and Lim Chung Lu is organizing their Part 2 rerun for the popular Guided Walk through the FRIM Natural Heritage Site. For those who wish to learn a few secrets of our local precious plants and trees, come and join them on 26th October 2013 for a 1.5 to 2 hours easy guided walk.

In conjunction with Environment Day 2013, ENSEARCH with supporting of the Department of Environment Malaysia and Indah Water Konsortium Sdn Bhd is organizing their inaugural event Sustainability and Environmental Management Conference & Exhibition (SEM2013). With a theme of “Shrinking Our Ecological Footprint”, SEM 2013 is not only for networking amongst stakeholders but to profile and showcase good sustainable practices and achievements of conglomerates in Malaysia.

This annual event celebrates the migration of birds flying from their winter homes to warmer climates. This natural phenomenon can be experienced on the day at the Kuala Selangor Nature Park (KSNP) who is co-organising the event with Malaysian Nature Society (MNS). Pesta Sayap 2013 includes a mangrove tour, where the public can learn more about the Malaysian mangroves as well as other fun-filled nature themed activities for all ages.

The Kuala Lumpur Eco Film Festival (KLEFF) is one of the first and biggest environmental film festival in Malaysia. In the last five years, the Festival has reached out to approximately 46,000 Malaysians through its film screenings at selected venues all over the Peninsular. This year KLEFF 2013 will be held at Publika, Kuala Lumpur and will feature film screenings, workshops and talks on sustainable living, fun and creative nature craft activities for children, performances, exhibitions and fairground attractions. The KLEFF also works closely with Malaysian higher institutes of learning with the aim of assisting in the development and progression of environmental communication.

Aptly themed “Advancing Green Growth And Global Entrepreneurship”, IGEM2013 continues to take the green lead in the region by gathering an outstanding ensemble of like-minded industry players and professionals from various sectors, public and private, big and small, local and foreign, new as well as established, to explore and seize the many opportunities from the exciting and emerging green market in the country and the region towards sustainable growth and development for the future. IGEM2013 will be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) and will host a gathering of international world-class green technology innovators, eco-products and services providers through various country pavilions to showcase this latest and most advanced offerings. The Borneo Eco Film Festival (BEFF) is an annual event celebrating Borneo’s biocultural diversity through showcasing environmental films and nurturing local community filmmaking. The event will be held in the Kompleks JKKN, in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Borneo Malaysia. The festival includes the SUARA series of community filmmaking workshops and ecological talks with exclusive premieres of local and international eco films. The event is free and open to the public. Energy Efficiency Asia is a 3 day Conference and Trade Fair, held in Bangkok Thailand, focusing on improving energy efficiency in the buildings, utilities and industry sectors.
