The 5th Kao International Painting Contest for Children is now open for entries until 29th August 2014. With the theme of “eco together”, this contest aims to encourage children around the world to think seriously about conservation of the environment around them and to depict what they can do to conserve resources in everyday life, as they will also be the leaders of the future. Children around the world between the ages of 6 and 15 years old are eligible to participate in this contest. The winner will be announced in the Eco-Products 2014 exhibition which will be held in Tokyo in December 2014.

Malaysian Water Resources Management (MyWRM) Forum 2014

The Department of Irrigation and Drainage of Malaysia (DID) and the Malaysian Water Partnership (MyWP) will be organising the Malaysia Water Resources Management (MYWRM) Forum 2014 from 9th until 10th June 2014 at Dewan Siantan, Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya, Putrajaya. The objective of this event is to increase awareness and effectiveness of information sharing on the sustainable management of the country’s water resources. It is also an avenue for all stakeholders to highlight, discuss and recommend strategies to address issues related to water resources management faced by the various sectors of the country’s water and increase understanding on Integrated Water Resources Management (IWRM). The Board of Engineer Malaysia (BEM) has also approved 10 CPD hours for engineers attending this forum.

World Environment Day (WED) is held each year on June 5. It is one of the principal vehicles through which the United Nations (UN) stimulates worldwide awareness of the environment and enhances political attention and action. This year 2014 World Environment Day will be hosted by Barbados, a Caribbean island with the theme of "Small Island Developing States and Climate Change" on Thursday, June 5, 2014.
